The team at Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences in the Estonian University of Life Sciences (Tartu, Estonia) is working with Estonian terrestrial orchids. Our aim is to store and to be able to germinate all our 36 native orchid species. Until now most of the work has been done on Orchis militaris, Coeloglossum viride, Cypripedium calceolus and three Epipactis species. We have reorganised our seed testing and storing according to the OSSSU protocols, but we also plant seed packets on the field to test germination in different environment.

More information is available on our website:

A list of all Estonian orchids can be found on site www.orhidee.ee
