Leticia Abdala Berzunza is a Pharmacobiology Chemistry graduate from the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán, Mérida, México, specializing in Hematology. She worked for twelve years at the Mexican Social Security Institute in the clinical analysis laboratory and the Blood Bank. She has a Master of Science in Plant Biotechnology, Natural Resources and Ecology in the Centro de Invetigación Científica de Yucatán, where she worked in the biotechnology laboratory. Leticia and her husband Vicente Perdomo currently own the Vivero Medio Dapa where they have an in vitro culture as well as an orchid’s seed bank. She participates as a judge in many orchid’s shows and contests. She and her husband have had a study group in Colombia, for more than 13 years; and have been around Mexico and Latin America giving lectures in this matter.
